Hi have a client who contacted me, saying the below

“I set up several company email addresses last year, purchased through 123reg.com and transferred over the Microsoft 365 accounts. The problem is, I have forgotten the password the global admin account and I haven’t set up a ‘backup/alternative’ email address password resetter. Also, it always refers me to Administrator to reset the passwords, I have no clue who or which account I have linked it to.”

Ive figured an email address that seems like the admin ACC but canoot be sure, however I tried doing the reset password and followed all the steps and we still get the below

Realistically your best option is to directly contact Microsoft via your country customer service number. As the details don’t match what MS have their end the forms will continue like that unless you can raise a technical form with the tech team.
Again though being MS it’s a shot in the dark chance of getting a good tech to walk through with yourself and the client to getting the account back and ensuring a backup is properly set. OR… you’ll go through the pain staking route of having the client having to go through this with the possible of a tech who only uses Jargon (if you client is from a less technical 365 background).
Unless they remember the admin creds or the information correctly MS will be harsh on allowing access back without having to jump through the hoops. As long as the client has proof of purchase of the email addresses I don’t see why MS Technical wouldn’t allow him back into the admin account.
Again this MS so will either go smooth or a struggle.
