Hello all,

Those of you who use ‘Teams Rooms’ or just Teams in your boardrooms, what are your experiences?

I’m finding that Microsoft want me to spend thousands of £ on equipment to do basically the same job as my mini OptiPlex, C920 webcam and Jabra conference speaker.

It’s the software side I really like. I want the simple interface just like on the Logitech Tap. I’ve tried messing around installing the app but when configuring it asks me to dock the device and I can’t get past that, if I could somehow force it that’d be great.

I’ve even seen used Logitech SmartDocks for a decent price thinking I may be able to retire the bosses Surface Pro but it’s not as old as I thought it was :frowning:

I’ve got the room showing as a Location in Teams so people can see it in Teams when booking meetings. It’s set up in EOL as a resource so the booking side is working. Just the experience when you’re in there is a bit janky.

Would love to hear what you’re using!

Thanks,

I agree - the certified Teams Rooms set ups look ideal for small/medium meeting rooms, but if you’ve already got an investment in some equipment it seems rather pricey, and I would worry about longer term support.

I have a mini compute stick in the back of our conference room TV, with a Logitech camera/conference speaker plugged in. People invite that account to the meeting, and it then appears on the Teams calendar for joining.

Not seamless, but works on a budget.

Ah cool yeah so I guess I’ll just give the ‘room’ a Teams license and play it like that for now.
