I’m looking to replace Spark and having recently went to 365, Teams looks very interesting as a replacement. I found an article that says M$ is pushing people to move from Skype to Teams. There’s a Teams app as well which is great for our CSR’s to get a hold of sales reps in the fields. Can anyone share some pros and cons of Teams and their success stories? I’m curious to hear it all.

PS - It looks to be completely web based as well which is a huge plus for zero install.

6 Spice ups

I’m using both Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams right now. I have to say I really love Teams. I like the integration of the meetings capabilities inside of Teams. I didn’t think I was going to, but I found it extremely useful now.

All in all I think the directions that Teams is going is very positive. There is an FAQ on the Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams that I found helpful.

1 Spice up

We just recently started using Skype for interoffice messaging. It works great of our limited needs with only 45 users and one location. I can see teams being very useful on a larger scale.

There are desktop versions of Teams and mobile clients as well. If your already on o365 its free (included with most plans) and well worth just diving in and trying it. I love the ability it has with the file sharing and team chats,

Bummer on Teams. Got into it with a few users and there’s no quick way to tell who’s in the chat and their status like Slack and dozens of other IM software has. MS does recognize this and says it’s gaining traction as a feature but no ETA. I did vote it up, so far 3,400 votes for it. I can’t believe something so basic is missing, owell. Sticking with Spark till it gets in there.

We use both Skype and Teams. The only thing we use Skype for is for virtual field trips and guest speakers in the classroom. Teams has been a game changer for me as a teacher. It’s so nice to have collaboration, files, websites, and other resources in one spot.

What if…

Outlook was going to go away and be replaced with Teams?
