We are Mitel, formerly Shoretel customers. We have our reception staff using Mitel 6940 phones. When training a new receptionist, they would like a second handset to listen in on the call on mute and guide the trainee as needed while sitting with them. Is there a way to add a second handset for this purpose?

I’m not aware of anything, but i’m following this because i’m curious if there’s anything out there like this as well. FYI: we are all Mitel here too, so feel free to message me anytime if you need any help with anything.

We did this and just used a splitter device. Like this one:
