Did spiceworks add more ads to the helpdesk UI?

I now get two on the right side and one on top. Is this the new norm?

I saw a post awhile back from @sean-spiceworks showing the banner ad, with 2 side ads and a background image ad that they were testing, not sure if it is live yet.

I believe so. I can’t find the link now but I’m pretty sure it was discussed within the past few months.

Gotta keep the lights on somehow.

I don’t believe we’ve made any changes but let me go check.

As for the previous posts, you probably are referring to:

There’s an option to pay for an ad free help desk.

Can you post a screenshot of what you’re seeing?

SW help desk has ads now??? Definitely time to research other options, I’ll bet my browser’s ad blocker won’t help with that. Oh well, another app for the shit list.

It’s always had ads…

It’s a badass app and for free, so what if you get a little humor on the side. Sheesh.

I have 2 on the right and none on top, but I think that’s how it has always been.

I mean, if you want it to stay free…

The user portal doesn’t, the tech portal does.

The Help Desk is entirely free (even if you host it through SW!). You don’t expect them to work for free do you?

What on earth do they do with the metric fuck-tonnes of money they take from vendors??? And all the ad revenue from the community site??? Sounds like maybe they need some budgeting assistance, I’m pretty sure I could run a business on the mass of vendor dollars they clock around here.

Clearly you are an above average person of keen insight and acute business acumen. I’m sure you could toss something together in no time to build a better product. One that brings IT and IT product and service vendors together into a single space and do so without all the pesky overhead of hiring people to do all the actual work of design, maintenance, support, marketing, accounting, payroll, HR, and so on, simply by doing it all yourself.

Put me on your mailing list for when you are through the Beta Test stage. I’ll be enthusiastically awaiting your announcement.
