I’ve been handed the job of moving our spiceworks to a new server. Update your Spiceworks installation to the newest version on your old server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Backup your database on the old server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Close down Spiceworks on the old server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Install Spiceworks (same version) on the new server.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
Restore from backup.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
To explain some of the steps better;<\/p>\n
On step 1, download the newest version from www.spiceworks.com<\/a><\/p>\n On step 2, navigate to Settings and then Backup Configuration. Set a location if you don’t already have one and run a backup.<\/p>\n On Step 3 select the Spiceworks Tray application and exit SW.<\/p>\n On step 4, well, I’m sure you can install Spiceworks. ![\":slight_smile:\"](\"https://emoji.discourse-cdn.com/twitter/slight_smile.png?v=12\" "\\":slight_smile:\\"")
