My USB ports devices are NOT recognized when plugged in directly to the laptop ports. However when I plug in a hub to the same port and then the device to the hub it works. This is driving me crazy,
When i put hard disc extern directly it works in all the ports
The keyboard extern also it works just on the second port but the first not

Now iwas update my bios but nothing happen to my usb ports

If you just restart the laptop and halt it to go into the BIOS, does the problem still happen? For example, does the external keyboard work in both ports when in the BIOS?

You could also boot up a live Linux ISO and try your ports there.

Can you confirm in device manager your ports show up - there are no issues with drivers or internal USB hubs showing errors?

Are you using Windows 10 or 11?

If it is happening when in the BIOS then it is a feature of the hardware as opposed to the Operating System whether it is Windows or Linux. Although, I agree with Rod-IT, using Linux booted from a USB stick would be a useful confirmation. https://linuxmint.com/ and Ventoy

I think 80℅ that the problem of hardware but the problem is when i put for exemlpe hard disk extern using usb 3.0 it works smoothly in all ports
With out using a hub this is the problem

I’m confused.

You say the ports don’t work, but then also say for a HDD they all work and for a keyboard one works and one doesn’t.

Perhaps you are using a USB 3.0 port that for whatever reason isn’t suitable for the keyboard - have you looked at the manual to see what it says?

If the USB port was faulty it wouldn’t work with the HDD or the hub, but you say it does, it’s only the keyboard that doesn’t from what you’ve posted.

What’s special about the keyboard?

What is the hub you are using, is it powered?

Yes it’s just simple hub has 3 ports 2.0
That’s is what making me crazy.
The laptop usb ports before 10days it works
I said that the keyboard work just for the port 2 but the port 1 not the laptop doesn’t recognize the keyboard on the first port,
As the phone cable too it works just when i put keyboard on the first port even the keyboard isnt work but the phone is work
Actually im tired with this problem
The generic hub it works well

Only one of the ports may be backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices - as above, have you looked at the manual?
