Hi there,

I have been doing some testing on the software network scan, and I have notice its picking up software which has been uninstalled from a number of my PC’s.

For example, on one of my windows PC’s MS Project and Visco was installed.

However, I have uninstall it, but spice works is saying its still installed.

I have Disable Incremental Scanning, and enable Scanner sends all data instead of deltas with no luck.

is there anything else I can do to get the software scan correct?

Thanks,

MS is notorious for leaving registry entries after uninstalls or upgrades as Chris alluded to. Try running a registry cleaner like CCleaner and see if that clears up your Visio entries.

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

Yes, convince Microsoft to improve their uninstall routines. There is undoubtedly something left in the registry after uninstalling those products and SW is picking up on that.

On one of my PCs that has had two upgrades to MS Office, they all show as installed.

{"@type":"Person
librarian
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/librarian"}},{"@type":"Answer

Bloody MS!!

I have 300 PCs, so I rather not go round to every PC’s running CCleaner)

Hmmmmm…maybe SW is not the best for software asset inventory with the MS issues.

{"@type":"Person
jameslee1254
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/jameslee1254"}},{"@type":"Answer
