Hi Spiceheads,

I am looking for a piece of software that we can use to streamline the process by which we grant access to network shares. Ideally, this software would allow HR to submit a request for a folder (lets say Finance). A predefined “approver” in finance would get an email and they would approve it. From there we in IT would perform the change (or the software would automatically perform the change).

It would also be nice to be able to revert back permissions.

Does anyone know of any software that can do what i described?

The first part of what you describe is a classic workflow system, where electronic documents are submitted, approved, and routed approved along a defined chain. I am unaware of any such program that integrates into AD, however.

Yeah thats what im looking for is a basic workflow system that will apply the share/ntfs security.
