I’m looking for a simple (cheap) camera doorbell system that can be connected to our MS network and accessed/answered from selected PC’s on the network. It seems like a simple idea but I’ve struggled to find anything suitable (they all appear to point to mobile apps).

I’m pretty sure the Nests and Rings of the world allow access via the web on desktop, if that would be acceptable, plus they offer cloud video storage if that is something you want.

Not sure if it will fit into your cheap category, but I have installed a few of the Axis A8105-E. Once they are paired with the software you can answer everything from mobile devices or PCs.

I second MikeDinIT, A Ring doorbell is going to be your best “cheap” option. We use one with an old IPad and just pass it around to who ever is watching the door. Pretty sure you can also view via the website. They even run on rechargeable batteries that actually last a long time so you don’t even have to run any wires.

If you go ‘not cheap’ - then have a look at the AIPhone lineup. I think this is the one we have for our building when it was remodeled before we moved in.

Software rides on about 5 different users PCs. Added a USB Mic to their PCs so they can talk to whoever is at the door.

I just installed a Ring doorbell for a client and it works just fine. Can access from pc or mobile. If you go with battery make sure you have a second battery as recharge times can be any where from 4 to 9 hours.

We have a few clinics with Nest at their rear doors. The front desk (on their computers) can see the door via a web application. NO ONE can see them on their cell phones (we secure that by having them on a single instance of the user name on our mail servers - each location has their own username).

Bit of a documentation thing on our end…but, simple, easy and cheap (as long as there is an existing doorbell with a power source)

As far as I’ve seen, there are NO corporately accepted ‘door bell camera’s’ that are secured. Thats a huge problem.
