New desk toy sneak preview and we have a claw machine!

We’ve been revamping our office here in Raleigh and now have a claw machine! There are also giant fatheads of the desk toys on each floor.

We’ve also deployed lots Tripp Lite by Eaton surge protection and connectivity products throughout the office. And there’s a new toy coming–the Wizard of Lite so please share your ideas for wizard-themed swag that you think would be cool.

That’s super cool! As my current Pathfinder 2e character is a gnome, I’ll make a pitch for a non-human SRE toon!

I would think the Wizard would be casting a lightning bolt or shocking grasp instead of conjuring fire, but then that’s just me. I also paint miniatures, so if I had one, he would be getting a custom paint job. Claw machine is awesome as well. Wait, is that bacon in your claw machine?

Yeah, we’re initially going with an on-the-shelf version. I’ve painted my share of miniatures as well! I’m pretty sure we can send you one for a custom paint job–just send me your snail mail and I can get send you one when we get them in stock. Yeah, that’s bacon!

Well, a Wizard is a human, with magical powers most don’t understand. My gnome is a sorcerer, and a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) needs to have magical powers no one in HR understands, so that was the parallel I was aiming for. Too much, I realize!

The wizard should cast a spell that makes the powers that be green light the @david-eaton bobble head / action figure project. I think that would be cool.

We created the throne with old PDUs that were obsolete and destined for scrap. In addition, we gutted each PDU and recycled the internal circuit boards, wires, etc.

The bacon and covered wagon are super sick! As for swag, I think if you turned the wizard into a USB pluggable and made the flame light up when plugged in, that would be cool. oh oh oh, or a robe!
