Is teams room for android still a thing? I’ve been having a lot problems setting it up and i’m struggling to find any resources on it.

I’ve currently got a logitech rally system in place in the conference room. It’s hooked up to a PC running zoom rooms and i have two android tablets. One is the controller for zoom meetings and the other is on the wall outside and acts as a scheduler to let users know if the room is occupied and to reserve it.

I’m planning on moving everything over to teams but i can’t seem to get the setup to work. I’ve setup a new resource account and applied a basic teams room license to it. What i assumed would happen was that i’d sign in to teams on the PC and tablet with this same account, it would see that it’s a rooms license and everything would magically set itself up with the Teams meeting rooms interfaces.

Instead, i sign into both the PC and controller tablet and i just see the bog standard teams interface.

What am i missing?

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

To me it sounds like you are using the PC to run the zoom meeting software, and the rally system is just a glorified webcam/speaker phone. I am assuming the PC is running Windows, in which case you don’t use normal Teams in a Teams room setup. In Microsoft there is a Teams Room for Windows and a Teams Room for Android software packages. Now the one thing I don’t know if one OS can control the other. At our location in our conference rooms, we have Yealink. Some of our conference rooms have a Yealink A20 meeting bar, which the bar itself runs android OS, as well as Teams Room for Android and then the kit came with a POE interactive touch screen that runs Android as well, the touch screen is paired to the bar, and all is happy. Then in our larger training rooms we run Yealink’s Teams Room for Windows setup. These PCs run IoT Windows 11 and Teams Room for Windows. Both systems have interactive touch screens, but those plug into the PCs themselves, and Windows just sees that screen as a 3rd monitor. But by some Micrsoft magic Teams knows which screen to display the room controls on, and then which screens are our content screens. But for us Yealink suppled the PC and touch screen in another kit, and the PC came pre-loaded with Teams Room for Windows.

Where I would start with you is try getting Teams Room for Windows loaded onto the PC. But I think Teams Room for Windows and Teams Room for Android are two separate platforms in the Microsoft ecosystem and not cross compatible. But then again, I could be wrong since I have never tried.

Then is MS land Teams booking panels are their own thing as well.
