I posted this in the ‘new version’ thread a bit ago but thought it might be better suited for it’s own thread (since there is no support forum?).

Well… we have a problem Houston. I uninstalled the previous version and rebooted the Windows 2008 R2 VMware VM and then installed the new build. The first problem was it said something like, “Network monitor uses port XXX and there is already something listening on that port.”

So, after the installer exited, I went into Services and sure enough, there were to Spiceworks services remaining even after the uninstall. So, I stopped those services and the restarted the install. It completed successfully this time, but now when opening up the URL in a Chrome browser, the Network Monitor ‘spice’ loads all but about an 1/8 of an inch and then stops. The circle never completes. It just hangs.

I restarted ALL the Spiceworks services now installed and still the same thing.

Other ideas?

Try and run the script posted in this thread and see if it cleans up for you.

Man… I thought that was going to do it. Uninstalled SNM, ran the script, rebooted, reinstalled and now the ‘starting’ page loads the circle to within a 1/16 of an inch… Getting close at least it seems, but still no go.

Well, I guess I spoke too soon. After it hung again, I restarted all of the Spiceworks services and now it seems to be running as normal. I’ll keep an eye on it and post with any other peculiarities.

Great glad it fixed it for you.
