I am trying to figure out the best ways to engage with the Spiceworks community. What are some tips that others have used to get involved? Any forums that are more interesting than others?

Immerse yourself in forums that are interesting to you. Be sure to include the Water Cooler because there are some very entertaining topics flying around that one. Look at some of the downloadable reports and extensions. Those will enhance your use of Spiceworks and connect you with some of the more active Spiceheads as well.

Keep an eye on the topics that show up on the right edge of the screen under “In the Community”. That will connect you with hot topics and popular discussions. You’ll get the chance to read comments from active users and add your comments to help get your name recognized.

Most of all - be genuine and enjoy.

I have heard about the Water Cooler. Will have to stop by there. Thanks for the tips Glenn_P

You’re welcome. If you get the chance, sign up for SpiceWorld in September. You’ll learn a great deal about Spiceworks and get to network with a bunch of us.

See good GG thinking in action, check—

Pay attention to the Unplugged events. Reg surely has many recordings. Responses repeat often on how Spiceheads prefer to interact.

Above Tech Marketing group may also put to words some issues Spiceheads have been trying to articulate, but missed. Definitely peruse it as time and opportunity permit.

Get involved in the forums, read posts and questions and how they have been answered. Always spice up comments you like and be sure to mark Best Answers/Helpful Posts.

If you have any problems, always feel free to ask, it’s a very friendly community.

And welcome!

I’d say in addition to staying active on the forums, you should look into joining your local Spicecorps. There’s a ton of in-person networking to be done there that is really helpful. They often have vendors or folks from Spiceworks HQ visit and speak to the group.

I think that, ultimately, just be yourself & think of Spiceworks as an informal ongoing conversation with the community. Spice up posts that you find helpful or interesting, view the tips on increasing your spice level (posting how-to’s, joining a conversation, etc), and avoid “hard selling.” Thought leadership goes much further than old-school sales tactics. Good luck!

It was a fun little thing we threw in the help power users…based on an intern hackathon project!

We announced it in a few places but it dropped off a bit because it’s kind of hidden.

Hey Desmond

Drop me a PM and lets set up a call. Happy to share some insights that would definitely be TLDR for the forum.

My hands cramp up…
