Hi. We recently removed an older Dell workstation and replaced it with a new one (same IP). I manually deleted the old one from inventory, and I assume the automated directory scan should pick up and add the new one, right? Well, it’s been 3 days and I still don’t see the replacement desktop in inventory. Am I making some wrong assumptions? Should I add it manually? Yes. That is safe to assume provided you removed the Do Not Scan mark for that IP address from Spiceworks.<\/p>\n

When you deleted it, did you tell Spiceworks not to scan this device again? Thanks for your response. Two things: I just learned that someone had taken the new workstation offline, so Spiceworks would have had quite a difficult time finding it on the network! Second thing - I told Spiceworks not to scan for that device again, not realizing it had been given the same IP.
