Hi,

I have two factory default 40G Arista DCS-7050QX-32 running EOS 4.13 and 4.23. On either switch, I can’t seem to make a link come up regardless of what I plug it into or what kind of DACs I use. Currently plugged into itself port 31 & 32 using an Arista DAC (CAB-Q-Q-2M), no link. Plugged from one arista switch to another port 32 to port 32 with arista DAC, no link. From Arista to server with ConnectX-3 Pro with arista DAC, no link. Tried all the same with Mellanox DACs as well, and surprise, no link.

Tried setting speed forced 40gfull, and speed auto 40gfull on the used interfaces but nothing changes.

Should the link come up automatically like a dumb switch, or is there some necessary configuration needed to simply make a link come up? Cables are good as I’ve tried each in the QSFP ports of a Dell 4032F 40G expansion module. Thanks!

Yes, thank you. Unfortunately, I did all of that and still no link on anything. I can’t understand it.

So you definately did follow the guide? including chapter 5
So you manually disbaled ZTP and reloaded, or are using ZTP and prepared a config on your ZTP server?
If you did the above and it doesn’t work, and no errors in the log then it must be faulty - return it as doa.
Once ZTP is disabeld and the swith reloads it will act like a ‘dumb’ switch, all ports in vlan 1 enabled and forwarding.
