The Domain controller (DC) holding the PDC Emulator role should be the authoritative time source for domain joined computers. That DC then points at an NTP source for its time.<\/p>","upvoteCount":0,"datePublished":"2021-01-07T02:43:46.000Z","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/t/ntp-server-best-practice/786650/2","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"PatrickFarrell","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/u/PatrickFarrell"}},{"@type":"Answer","text":"
I don’t have the backup documentation handy, but Windows Domain controllers are not a full NTP implementation and should not be used as a time source for NTP clients. They will provide time but it’s not preferred.<\/p>","upvoteCount":0,"datePublished":"2021-01-07T02:48:15.000Z","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/t/ntp-server-best-practice/786650/3","author":{"@type":"Person","name":"PatrickFarrell","url":"https://community.spiceworks.com/u/PatrickFarrell"}},{"@type":"Answer","text":"
