Hi Spicers,

I’m having some issues getting office 365 Business Premium to activate.

Shared activation inst available to this version/type (thats Office 365 Pro Plus)

I’ve downloaded the package and created my configuration.xml and installed with MDT as an application package.

The main issue is that once installed if a normal user signs in and trys to activate office (they have a license assigned) it fails, the only way i can get it to work is to add the user to local admin group which is not an option/solution.

Microsoft official guide is near useless as it is for 365 Pro Plus

Any suggestions would be appreciated i’ve logged a call with our 365 tenant also!

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

Very odd. I’ve never had a problem doing it this way. Can you share your XML file? I doubt that’s the issue, but couldn’t hurt to double check.

{"@type":"Person
DragonsRule
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/DragonsRule"}},{"@type":"Answer

The app installs fine.

P.S dont think auto activate should be used according to MS

{"@type":"Person
alpa2
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/alpa2"}},{"@type":"Answer

You can just remove this line:

It defaults to 0, so you only need that line if you are changing it.

But I don’t see anything wrong here. When a User runs a program for the first time it asks them for their O365 account?

{"@type":"Person
DragonsRule
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/DragonsRule"}},{"@type":"Answer

Yes it does ask them to enter there credentials. They enter it office attempts to activate then fails.

I’ve created a testing user equivalent to one of our office staff.

{"@type":"Person
alpa2
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/alpa2"}},{"@type":"Answer

The installer is supposed to configure everything to that Office runs as a system account, both for activation and updates. It sounds like that’s not happening for some reason.

You are installing with an account that is a local admin on the machine, right?

{"@type":"Person
DragonsRule
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/DragonsRule"}},{"@type":"Answer

I’m deploying it as part of a system image as an application in MDT which runs application installs as system i believe.

I’ve ran it as a batch file manually to kick of the install as local admin also. Doesnt seem to make any difference.

Really scratching my head.

{"@type":"Person
alpa2
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/alpa2"}},{"@type":"Answer
