We recently lost access to Spiceworks Helpdesk. How can we get a copy of our history now that we can’t afford the rates?

Cant afford $6?

Lost access to what, you said old helpdesk, but was this cloud based on on-prem?

Cloud Based. It is locked up so I can only see users and billing. No way to pull history…

If you can get to reports, you should be able to export content.

FYI, if your admin count is less than 5 you can also restore your service.

@Suzanne-Spiceworks

Are there any backend exports that can be run for people who just want their data, but can’t get in?

I don’t think anything can be done while it is locked, but to unlock it, just remove enough admins so it is down to 5, and it should unlock so you can export again. It’s still free for 5 and below, so everything should be functional again at that point.

I’m not the expert here though, so if you need real help with exporting, please write to support@spiceworks.com. Support is free.

I am the only admin. How do I restore services?

1 Spice up

The reason we can’t afford it is because they also charge for Techs as well as Admins. We have 10 people that use this maybe once a month. Hard to pay $600 a month for that.

I mean, take off all the employees that work on tickets, down to 5, and functionality will be restored. Not just admins… whatever other titles count as well. Owners, Techs… I think there might be another one too.

Gotcha

Also, just to make sure… if you have 10 people, that’s $60, not $600. Not trying to talk you into paying… just making sure you know it isn’t $600 a month.

Admins/techs all count, so remove or demote anyone who isn’t needed so you can get in and do what you need.

$60 per month, as clarified.

$720/year

I did the math for my users, before making the decision, I didn’t think exact numbers were needed here. That did it. Thanks!

And that’s fine, but your above calculation was wrong, so it was clarified for you.
