Hi There
I’ve got the go-ahead to purchase some on-line training for myself and assistant.
Looking online Plurasight seems to offer a wide catalogue of IT topics that would suit both of us.
My plan is we can delve in to some useful knowledge at work with some time put by and also use at home.
Have any of you used Plurasight and can pass comment on them, or have other recommendations…
Many thanks and regards
Tim

I signed my group up for online training late last year and looked at both PlualSight and CBT Nuggets.
We did trials of both and the group unanimously chose CBT Nuggets based on content and format. I don’t remember the pricing, but think CBT Nuggets was a little more expensive.

I use Pluralsight almost everyday through our corporate subscription. CBT is good and there’s also Cybrary. All three are good.

Microsoft Virtual Academy is excellent for all levels. There is also I lot of free training courses available.

There are plenty of great resources, paid and free that are available, depending on specific topics. General stuff, Pluralsight, CBTnuggets, are great. They also are great for general stuff. MVA is great for MS specific stuff. Linux, you have Red Hat training or Linux Academy or other vendors. VMware has some great free training and paid training plus hands on labs. If there are certain topics you’re interested in, you might want to see about certifications that are related to those topics then pursue training relevant to those certifications (whether you want to test for the cert or not).

I’ve only used Pluralsite, but I must say I not only enjoyed it, but learned a great deal from it.

Plus 1 for CBT Nuggets - they’ve got excellent instructors, cover virtually all areas of IT and have a great format. I’ve used a number of different instructional methods and really feel CBT Nuggets is an excellent value and a great way to learn, especially when most of us only have 30 minutes here or there to dedicate to training.

I can only speak for Pluralsight as I have a personal sub to it for over a year now.
It’s been very useful and well worth the annual sub.
All I would say is that you decide what areas you want training in first. Then look at what is available from the different sites. You might find that 1 site has more content relevant to your needs than others.
I have enjoyed Linux Academy very much. I am also currently having a good time with the Python specialization on Coursera.

I gotta go with Pluralsight on this one. The videos are very good. Before that I was using MVA (Microsoft Virtual Academy).

First month is $9, worth to check it out.

I’ve bought a couple things off of udemy.com, the shining stars being Chris Bryant and his CCENT/CCNA boot camps. They also offer a lot of free classes and have a business model.

I have used Udemy, Linda, MVA, CBT Nuggets, INE, and Code Academy. Last year I bought my girlfriend a subscription to Packt Publishing’s online library. She seems to be happy with what they offer.
