Hey everyone.

We’ve decided to open up Trust Level 3 to everyone, and the first three people to make it are @GeorgeSVFC, @merlinyoda, and @Ode2Joy. Hooray!

One of the big things that Trust Level 3 users can do that others cannot is recategorize and rename topics, which means they will be able to correct typos for others, or add / change categories and tags for things that are miscategorized or that need more tags in order to be seen.

Volunteer moderators could already do this, but this way we get a few more people participating in the fun. If you want to learn more about editing topic categories and titles, refer to THIS post.

For those curious about how to get to Trust Level 3, I am not going to give exact numbers, because we might need to tweak the settings in the future, and I also don’t want to give a nice spammer road map to people trying to infiltrate the community.

In general though, to determine Trust Level 3, the site looks at the last 100 Days. So being active and participating recently matters a lot. Also, don’t forget to spice up other people’s posts if you appreciate them, because it also requires a certain number of spicy “likes” given and gotten.

If you have questions, let me know below.

It’s so cute someone thinks I can handle this kind of responsibility!

Just kidding. I’ll use my newly-gained superpowers only for good!

I’m honored! I like the new platform (though there is lots to miss about the former), and will be glad to help it be more functional for all!

I asked about this…now i have to start spamming i mean useful posting many times!

I’m proud to have (re)joined the ranks of Trust Level 3 with my fellow spiceheads @GeorgeSVFC and @ode2joy.

I feel like we need an unofficial name for those of us that obtain this status in this way. Unfortunately I’m not feeling all that creative at the moment and the only thing that’s coming to mind right now is “the fixers” but “fixer” already has another meaning associated to criminal organizations that we definitely do not want to associate to our efforts here!

Definitely a good idea not to give away too much. Although, if the system could require confirmation from someone at Trust Level 4 before Trust Level 3 was granted, then spammy infiltrators could quite readily be kept out.

“Jedi”? “TL3”? “T3”? Or are we “Padawan”?

You can be the fixers anyway. Someone needs to give that poor word a face-lift.

5 Spice ups

Grifters?

6 Spice ups

 I’m pretty sure that’s worse. At least there’s a very specific sort of work-ethic tied to the criminal context of “fixer”. Grifters are willing to do or say just about anything to make a buck and I get the feeling even career criminals would look down on them.

It looks like my activity slipped off enough recently that I’m no longer (at least temporarily) part of the TL3 crowd. Easy come, easy go! :upside_down_face:

Fixed. You qualified for everything except for number of posts read (during a specific time period), and you were almost there. It was probably too high, so I adjusted it a bit.

4 Spice ups

It doesn’t look like it has granted it to you yet, but on the next cycle (whenever that is), it should.

Cool! I wasn’t seeing it as a problem to be fixed, more noticing a feature that’s flexible.
Thanks, Z!!
