It recognizes it, basically even 10 TB, it is up to the OS to have GPT support.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<\/aside>\n

If it’s a new piece of kit it’s more down to the OS.
You dont state what size, but so long as it’s formatted in GPT it shouldn’t be an issue

It’s been a long time since I even considered something like this, I just expect it to work anymore in current systems.
I’m going to go with Rod-IT and Bryan Doe on this too, you should be able to plunk in a new one, format it, and move on. Worst-case scenario is to go to Dell’s support page, put in the service tag, then go to Manuals & documents and you can get the specs of the system - I know when I just checked my XPS L521X it did NOT have a maximum for an SSD, however, it will give you maximum supported for memory, how many USB ports it came with, et al. Although I could go for a new 1TB SSD and 1TB mSATA…
