We used to be an Oracle shop, but have moved off Oracle. A few minutes ago I received an email from Oracle to remind me to update my email subscriptions. So far so good, but when I went to unsubscribe everything Oracle asks for my email address to confirm changing my email subscriptions. I don’t mind doing this as they already have it. The confirmation email comes and it says “Welcome to Oracle”. Clicking the Subscriptions link takes you to the same email confirmation page, but at least there is an unsubscribe link.
I guess I’ll be using Outlook’s rules to delete Oracle emails from now on.

Right…if I click the unsubscribe email, remove me, don’t make me enter my email address again…you obviously already have it.

Even better - I love the ones that send you an email to confirm that you don’t want their emails anymore…

I actually don’t have a problem with this.

My beef with Oracle? $vendor requires java script but it has to be Oracle’s flavor of Java. Okay. Oracle now requires us to purchase licenses for our workstations. Okay. We have a VM box where one of the VM’s needs this software. Okay. Oracle dictates we have to have a license for every core on every VM on that box and the cost is exponentially higher per license than a typical workstation for the exact same software. The only party who requires this is Oracle. I find this to be disingenuous at best.
Not only that, but there is no place to apply a license to activate the software. You just download it and let it rip.

We have one application that requires Java and the vendor covers the costs for us. They just sent us instructions on using their new version that will allow me to uninstall Java.

I love when this happens. Apple is also bad about this I’ve found. I have 100 rules for all kinds of stuff, but, I failed to think about creating a rule for these types of emails. Will be doing the same thing myself
