We use Plugable devices (the dual-screen laptop docks) for our remote and local sales people with Surface Pro 2s. They love them.
Two of our units have issues. One has issues with Multi-monitors 1 in 10 boots, it doesn’t come up as it should and the mouse on the screen is off-set by 1/3 of the screen. A simple reboot fixes this. The other breaks the print spooler on the Surface every time it gets plugged it. Really not a big deal and it is a quick fix but can get annoying for the user. Rebooting doesn’t help you have to manually restart the spooler.

I’ve used one before. It died (but it was in a yucky factory environment). Plug gable replaced it quickly and easily. Great RMA process, and as far as I know, the new unit is still going strong.

We are using a couple of their USB 3 docking stations since they get better reviews than what Dell offers and we’ve been very happy with them. Just be sure you always install the most up to date drivers for them (from their web site) before you install it. Even then, they sometimes need a reboot to restore connections. I think it is more of a USB 3 video issue than with the devices themselves.

I’ve implemented them for users at their desks, and set them up under conference room tables to easily integrate with the projector/webcam.
They work like a charm!
