Hello,

I upgraded the firmware on all of my Lexmark printers at work (CXTAT.230.408 for the CX725 and CXTPP.230.408 for the CX860). Now, many of them cancel print jobs. They spin up like something is going to print, then everything stops, and a message appears on the screen saying, "canceling ‘job name’ ". The print queue is clear since the actual print job reaches the printer. None of this happened prior to the firmware upgrade. I have thousands of dollars in useless printers. No, I don’t want to erase and rebuild them since that requires a separate license file for each serial number. I cannot send logs to Lexmark because the network is classified. Help!

Thanks,
Jay

have you tried to uninstall the print driver from the local pc, then download the latest drivers from Lexmark, reinstall and see if the jobs print?

Welcome to Spiceworks @Lexmark-Admin.

I see that firmware downgrade is no longer an option without Lexmark support first:

  • Firmware downgrade is no longer supported, if there is a reason firmware downgrade is required, please get in touch with Lexmark Technical Support and refer to the KB topicSO8017

There are recommendations for downgrading the firmware if necessary. I would check with support first, as they may have a PE-released version of the firmware that they can provide you with a fix for this issue.

How many printers have you upgraded the firmware on?

Hey Jay,

Sounds like the new firmware might be bugged seen something similar after an update once. Have you tried rolling back to the previous version? If that’s not an option, maybe try disabling any new security or job validation features the update may have added (stuff like IPSec, SNMPv3, or print job verification). Also check if the drivers on the computers match the firmware version sometimes mismatches cause jobs to drop.

Hope that helps a bit!
