I have a projector that’s based off of a two passive HDMI cables (one 25 ft, one 10 ft) with an active receiver connecting the two, that will randomly drop the signal, and it takes 5-10 minutes for it to come back. There is also some audio distortion that comes through occasionally. My thought is likely that one of the cables is bad, so I was thinking of just going with a 35 ft. active HDMI cable, can anybody tell me if I’m on the right track? (as the 35 foot one that I found is rather expensive, and I don’t want to have the boss order one if I’m completely off my rocker).

{"@type":"Person
[{"@type":"Answer

You won’t know until you try, but that’s a solid choice.

If you can get a machine closer to it connect with a short cable and let it run for a while and see if the problem still occurs. If not then you know the Projector is good and it’s likely the cable.

The other possibility of course is the video card in in the computer it’s connected to. Connect a monitor to that interface and run it for a while to rule that out.

{"@type":"Person
PatrickFarrell
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/PatrickFarrell"}}]}}
