Today I got the nonsensical question below:
https://community.spiceworks.com/questions/4715/explanation#39316
In Windows, if you cannot use Ctrl + Alt + Del to open a command prompt due to a remote session or otherwise, which key combination will open it for you?
Windows Key + T
Windows Key + Del
Ctl + Alt + Esc
Ctl + Shift + Esc
It was easy to get right despite making no sense but I think it needs changed or withdrawn.

Yeah that question is all sorts of wrong, mainly there’s no right answer though (if the question is which one of these opens a command prompt)

If the question was simply “In Windows which key combination can be used in a Remote Session instead of Ctl Alt Del” - then that would be fine.

The question doesn’t make sense because you don’t use Ctrl + Alt + Del to open a command prompt in the first place.
The only procedure that I guess they could be talking about is to use Ctrl + Alt + Del to open the menu that comes up, run the Task Manager and then click File/Run new task" from there. If that were the case, Ctrl + Shift + Esc would be a quicker way to the task manager but even quicker would be Win + R to open the run dialog and run cmd from there.
If you’re in a remote session (if we’re talking about RDP), the equivalent of Ctrl + Alt + Del is Ctrl + Alt + End and that’s not one of the answers offered.
The question should be removed from rotation until it is fixed, whatever that looks like.

I don’t have access to my orange account from my dayjob, but I’ll get to this as soon as I can.
@david-k-spiceworks or @suzanne-spiceworks could one of you put this into moderation until I get a chance to fix it, please?

I’m still wondering if they wanted a run.exe window or a command terminal window.

Considering the answer, I’m assuming the question is supposed to be in relation to Task Manager instead of command prompt.
My first instinct is to change it to something more like the following
In Windows 11, which of the following will open Task Manager?
with the same 4 possible answers, and maybe say something about folks typically using Ctrl + Alt + Del in the hint? The source currently points to a generic keyboard shortcut page on Microsoft’s support site, so I’m thinking I may look for something more specific to this key combo as well.
Anyone object, or have a better idea to save this one?
I’m tagging the author of the question, @matthewhufnagl9960 for their input as well.

I think its not worth it for Task Manager because you can do that in so many ways, i.e. right-click on taskbar etc.

It seems more logical to me to change the question to ask about task manager, than to change the answer to
CTRL+Shift+Esc > Alt+F > Alt+N > CMD > Return
unless I’m also changing the other answers to a string of multiple key combos, but I’m interested to hear any other suggestions.

That sound better. I use that shortcut a lot to open Task manager, and it seems like that was what he may have been trying to get at. There are less convoluted ways to get to a command prompt.
