I have a Central Spiceworks server with 4 remote collectors scanning different networks and sending it to the central server.

One of my collectors is not scanning my devices in that network. The last updated time changes but the last scan time never does.

I have troubleshooted many different things and read through many discussions. Could I get someone from Spiceworks support to view my logs and see what may be causing the issue?

Thanks!

Hey John,

Sure thing! So none of the devices on that particular remote collector are being scanned at all, or is it just some of the devices?

All devices.

It picks them up on the initial discovery scan but nothing afterwards.

What version of the application are you running on your Central Server and on this Remote Collector?

All are running the same version, 7.4.0119.

Hmmm…Can you post a screenshot of your Network Scan settings page from the Remote Collector here, please? Be sure to include the stuff at the bottom, under Additional Settings.

Let me know if you can’t view those.

They came through just fine, but I’m going to remove them since one displays the domain\user format for your scanning credentials. Its looking like a bug to me, John. I’m going to send you an email with some instructions so we can get a copy of your logs from that Remote Collector.

Ok thank you. I will send my logs.

John,

Looks like you are seeing a bug in the code. The only possible workaround I have is to take that server out of Remote Collector mode, then re-enable it as a Remote Collector. Let me know if that makes any difference at all, please.

As for the bug, the # is 64413 and you can track that by subscribing to our release notes page:

No success with disable/re-enabling it.

What release notes is that bug code in? I can’t find it.

I am just confused as to why my other collectors are scanning fine and this one is not.

I should have been more clear. That bug number isn’t in the release notes yet because it hasn’t been fixed yet. Once it has, it will appear on a release notes post.

As for why that one isn’t working at the rest are, I’m as confused as you are. Destroying and re-building that Remote Collector should work, but I can’t say if the problem will come back at some point.

BUMP. I am also affected.

Removing and re-adding the RC seems to help but only for a short time…
