Ok… weirdest thing ever.

A few computers in my network can’t remote desktop to a certain server.

I thought initially that it could be a firewall problem, but trying telnet server 3389 works!

So I suppose it’s an application level problem (Windows), not network level.

Any ideas???

Thanks!

Have you checked the settings on the machine to see if they allow remote assistance requests

yes, they do.

Remote assistance isn’t the same as the “Allow users to connect remotely to this computer”. I’d double chekc that that is on, and that your terminal server service is running. However, if you’re able to connect on 3389 with telnet, I don’t think this will help you.

which version of RDP do the station use that will not connect?

An older version will not connect unless you lower security level for remote desktop.

That guy’s got the answer.

same version…

but the weirdest thing is: it was working before.

Try port 3390. I believe Vista and 7 run on the new port.
