I have a device that is depreciated and no longer being used and has been sitting for over two years. The previous IT person has removed the OS system but never ran a scan to remove all the software installed so spice works is still showing the device has all the software. Is there a way that I can manually remove a device from the Software Application so that is shows accurate installs for that specific software? I do not want to delete the device from our inventory yet since we have disposed of it yet.

If the computer has the software installed it will show up in the inventory as installed.

You can go to Software licensing and apply/remove the license

If the computer has the license removed, reconnect computer to the network, and prompt a scan, to update the inventory list.

One of them is missing the OS system so its not being recognized any more when I plug it into the network and the other one will not recognize the IP address in spiceworks. These devices are going to be removed from our office soon but we wanted to keep the history of the device at this time. Is there no way to manually remove the software information from spiceworks?

As long as the device is in the inventory, the software will appear on the list. There isn’t a way to remove the device or to make it “not count” towards the software totals. The device would need to be removed from the Inventory.

You could try the Device Archive plugin. It will archive the device, which removes it from the inventory, but you would still have access to it from within the plugin.
