We have a large amount of users who connect to an application via remote desktop.

Sometimes the sessions will freeze and require us to reset the session.

Any way to give the users power to reset their own RDP Session instead of waiting for a timeout to occur?

I set to automatically logoff ‘disconnected’ sessions after two minutes.

Then I say to the user that if the application is frozen, close the window and wait a couple of minutes before you connect back.

Good idea!

Only downside is theres a couple of sessions I need to leave active but disconnected.

Any way for them to be alive and just kill the users?

Cheers

Yep you can specify rdp session limits per user.

In ad users and computers just open said user properties and go to “Sessions” tab.

For that scenario though you have to set to logoff on disconnect for each user individually because if you set the limits globally via rdp session host configurator it will override the “per user” settings.

I think you can also split your users into groups and then use GPO to set the limits for each group.
