Reset Windows XP 2003 Vista Local Administrator Password

Quickly and effectively reset any local passwords in a Microsoft Windows XP, Microsoft Windows Server 2003, Microsoft Windows Vista environment.

Step 1: Download the latest image

Download the latest image of Offline NT Password & Registry Editor. (See the References below.)

Step 2: Create a disk or disc of the latest image.

Do this using your software of choice. One option for Windows clients is CDBurnerXP. http://cdburnerxp.se

Step 3: Boot the system

Boot the system which you would like to reset the password(s) with the newly created disk/disc.

Step 4: Follow the simple on-screen instructions.

Step 5: Save the changes.

Step 6: Eject the media.

Step 7: Reboot and Login

This is very effective, and also works to reset local passwords on Microsoft Windows Servers, which can then be used to reset Active Directory passwords, including the AD Administrator password(s).
