Back to back champ:
I probably would have done this when I was 22, definitely not now at 52.
Would you take it on?

LOL, no way! I mean, I like cheese, but I hurt just from watching the video.

I have seen this before and it is very entertaining to watch. I would try Barbie Jeep racing before trying this though, at least they wear protection for the falls. I would not try chasing cheese down a hill on foot.
Maybe we could get cross-cultural and have a Barbie Jeep race chasing the cheese for the win?

I have not heard of Barbie Jeep Racing… will check it out.
I would be more inclined to do the Red Bull Soap Box races.

Cheese is a good motivator!
At Queen Beatrix Airport in Oranjestad, they sell 6kg wheels of Gouda. I am very happy to brave the crowds and the TSA (twice, because you go through Aruba exit and US entry) to bring that little prize home. I definitely would do this if I got to keep the cheese

That would be a fun way to go down the hill, although stopping might be a problem.

My brother and I used to use plastic 55-gallon barrels to do that. We didn’t try a steep hill; we did crazy things responsibly.

Agreed…once upon a time, more than one decade ago…

My friends and I used to grab plain old wagons and run down “bank hill” (a steep inclined drive-up to the teller window in town). If a car decided they needed to be going down that road or up that hill while we were racing, oops…only once did we ever have a close call with cars, but often we’d see a pretty cool wipeout!

I’d seen this on Smoking Gun’s World’s Dumbest previously but pretty much forgotten about it. This is risky enough when modern medicine and trauma centers are available, but it seems that this may go back something like 600 years. If you broke anything serious or got a major gash back then that would be a career-ender, and probably a life ender as well…

I did lots of stupid things at 22, now at 52 everything hurts, I would be good if I can walk down the hill.

I went for a 4 mile walk on Wed last week. My hip has been killing me since. I can walk ok, just sitting or bending over it isn’t enjoyable.
This is me literally:

I say NAY to any racing like that. I like my spinal mis-alignment the way it is.

I have spinal injuries, so definitely a no! lol

I live about 5 mins away from the hill, trust me the videos do not show it’s true glory, or the barbed wire fence at the bottom
That said there are surprisingly few major injuries given what people do.

The barbed wire is part of the challenge - they have to time their jump just right
