Hey guys. So the company I work with is looking to implement a two-factor authentication system, and we are between RSA Securid and Duo. Duo seems easier and more convenient, but I am curious to know if any of you have used both, and which you prefer and why.
Thanks! I appreciate the advice.

There was a recent post on here where I believe duo was increasing their prices.

Comparing RSA SecurID and Duo is like comparing apples to oranges. RSA SecurID is a type of hardware MFA token. Duo implements MFA in many ways and can work with RSA SecurID tokens.

Do you have a link? I haven’t heard about it. I talked to reps at Duo about licensing yesterday, and they didn’t mention an increase.

I could be wrong, but I’m sure I read it, I am still looking - it may not have been duo, but I’m sure one of the MFA clients were, the post was on here too.

Actually, Duo acquired RSA.
Duo did not aquire RSA. They aquired RSA tokens, which is the hardware fab that generates authentication tokens.
I thought that was an April Fool’s day joke.

Did you ever decide between the two? I’m also considering RSA vs Duo vs Safenet. They all seem to be in the same price range and have essentially the same basic features (soft tokens, hard tokens, push notifications or 6-digit OTCs, geo-fencing, reporting). Ease of use for the users seems to be similar as well, so at this point I’m trying to determine ease of implementation/maintenance for IT!

We currently have both. As for ease of implementation, good luck with RSA. I had to open a few tickets to get it working because their documentation were terrible. I even had a call with the person that wrote a few of the documentation so they can fix it. RSA does have a good support team though. I didn’t implement duo but my colleague told me it was quite simple. Its been a few months, have you decided which product to go with?
We actually haven’t gone with either one yet. Some folks at a higher level than I are looking at Vasco now. I hadn’t heard of it before recent. I think that’s gonna be the one we go with. We shall see…

Wow, its been 9 months and you guys still didn’t decide yet :D. I just completed our Duo rollout and got everyone off of RSA. Its been working great except when the phone doesnt have reception (plane, remote island). We have to let the end user know that the phone needs to be on wifi as well for the push to work.

We actually had the project put on hold, so I never made a decision. I’ll have to take a look at Vasco, never heard of it either.
