Spiceworks reports that MS Project 2007 Professional is installed. We do not have a license for the professional version, so I uninstalled MS Project, downloaded and installed the Standard version, did a rescan of the machine and the inventory then showed Standard and Professional were installed. I deleted the machine form the inventory and let Spiceworks find it again, same result. I followed the How-to here: http://community.spiceworks.com/how_to/show/420, same results. I took a look at the log file and the only error was related to DNS, however I did not see anything in th elog that indicated Spiceworks was inventorying the software, only that it was populating hardware and other information.

Thanks in advance for any other ideas.

SW is pulling this from the registry in all likelihood. If you look at Add/Remove on the machine in question does it show just Standard?

What about in the Registry, I know this has been an issue with other things, like showing multiple versions of Firefox installed.

Spiceworks does inventory software as well as any other information it can pull.

I did find a registry key that referred to the Professional version.

hkey_local_machine\software\microsoft\office\12.0\registration{xxxxxxx}

I deleted, rescanned and the entry was removed from Spiceworks.

Thanks for the help.
