Looking to see if anyone has successfully installed the scanning agent on Ubuntu? We have Ubuntu system deployed at customer sites already and would like to have the Scanning Agent run on these systems, unable to deploy and Windows systems at these locations due to Licensing and maintenance cost.

Scanning agent for what software?

Has anyone successfully installed the scanning agent on Ubuntu?

Were there any specific challenges or workarounds you found during deployment?

I think this is about Spiceworks Inventory Online, so I put that tag on the post, but if I am wrong, let me know.

The network scanning agent to identify systems connected to the network.

to clarify the network scanning agent for what solution? your original question didn’t specify.

Are you talking about the spiceworks inventory scanning agent? or is this an agent for some other tool like an RMM?

Looking to identify what is on the network. Spiceworks has multiple agents but I am specifically referring to the scanning agent. I use the Scanning Agent on a few Windows systems that is able to scan the network and identify what is connected.
This is the Spiceworks description of the Scanning Agent: Discover what’s on your network.

Run a light scan from a single device to get the names, IP addresses, MAC addresses, and open ports of devices on your network.
