Hello Spiceheads,
In case you missed it, I am holding a Capture the Flag event until Friday September 18, 2020 at 3pm EST.
What is a Capture the Flag (CTF)?
Well I am glad you asked. Tim Harmon (a Ciscp Champion) describes them as “a competition between security professionals and/or students learning about cyber security. This competition is used as a learning tool for everyone that is interested in cyber security and it can help sharpen the tools they have learned during their training.”.
How can I play?
To play, go to https://ctf.digital/ and click register to play. You must create a team (a team can be just you) to play.
Do I need any previous knowledge to play?
The only thing you need to know how to do is how to turn on your computer and get to https://ctf.digital site. Knowing how to talk to others and Google things also is helpful. Remember, I have had middle and high school students figure most of the problems out (there are easy and hard questions here).
What to do if I have an issue or want help?
Post in this thread.

Is there an issue with the confirmation emails for the CTF server? I’ve tried 2 different email addresses and haven’t received the confirmation email yet. Nothing in spam either.

I have had some issues with it (even though I pay for google, they dont want me to send emails for some reason). I am messaging you to find out what your email address is.
Paranoid thought: You are testing us just by posting this and the site actually gathers all your data and sell it to Epson (see my watercooler post from today)

We got to do something like this during a conference I attended last year. It was pretty fun, so I’ll have to take a look at it during my free time.
Now that the contest is over, would anyone care to share how they solved all of the challenges?

@brianhahn2712 There are still 21 hours left.
Thanks jimender2! I thought the contest ended when SpiceWorld 2020 ended.
I’ll keep plugging away at them and see how many more I can complete.
Thanks again!
