I bet those server rooms started out nice, and then change requests and adding new devices came in and all goes downhill from there.

you have to be diligent to keep things nice and neat and clean.

Unfortunately when something has to be done in a rush or emergency Nice and Neat goes out the window.

Many times, I’ve been called in to help cleanup someones server, and it usually takes 1 or 2 days depending on the severity.

Its funny how many of those connections are not connected to anything or just bad cables never removed.

Ours is a lot worse than some of those! It was already like it when i started, i’ve offered to tidy it up but my boss just said “dont worry about it for now, we’ll do it at some point down the line”

Wow, we have ours all labeled at both ends of the cable, all cables hidden and put in tubes to run across racks. Took myself and my boss 5-6 hours on a Saturday to straighten up. It’s pretty nice to have labels when things to awry! Makes finding the problem 10x easier!
