Im looking for a way to make, or implement some sort of timer that would count down to a specific date, such as in december of this year or next year.

Example:

Something like this would be fantastic, if you guys could help me out or point me in the right direction.

I think you have to build it yourself or pay for a custom web part. Here is a site with a basic and free one that you can use by putting in the code:

Ok, I got it working for free for me.

Add a web part to your site, it’s under the Media and Content section, called “Page Viewer”.

Then use that site you linked to make your countdown look however you want. Then once you have it all customized, at the bottom is this section:

“Insert the following HTML code on your web page: BUNCH OF CODE” Just grab the website address from that (leave out the formatting) and paste that link into the Page viewer web part.

Ah, so you don’t have Foundation? Or am I thinking of the iFrame web part?

We just bought Enterprise. I think that’s what you’re asking, I’m no Sharepoint expert. I know enough basic stuff to get it up and going.

Under insert → webpart → in the categories is Media and Content → from there is “Page Viewer”. It’s “presented in an iFrame” if that helps?

That was quick, thanks guys. I will talk with my boss and figure out what would be the best fit for the website. Will be handing out helpful and best answers when it gets implemented!

While we are on the topic, I am also looking for a thermostat one that is for a goal, like, we start at 0 points, work to 100 points, and can be edited for where we are at, any ideas?

Chris

I’ve not tried this out, but you could make one in Excel,

and then use the Excel link webpart to display it. The cells can also be edited right in the webpart. There’s an excel service SP needs enabled (I think).

I was thinking of something completely different…been a long day. Page View is available OOB for Foundation so anyone can use this.

However, you cannot use the Excel webpart using Foundation so that might not work for Chris if he is using the free version.
