I have to migrate a Citrix xennapp 6.0 server. I know 6.5 is out and was curious if I should start looking at a different product. We have some older software so we use xennapp to stream to users. It works but most of the time requires a script to execute the program making it hard to manage.
what are you guys using? I like xennapp because it streams instead if rdp and has nice security

Hi,
I suppose it really comes down to business justification, does your XenApp solution deliver everything your company expects with the price tag associated?
When you say your streaming applications I assume that you are using the streaming profiler or are you simply delivering an application installed on the XenApp box?
If you are looking at comparitive products then you may find something like App-V works better for you and hooking it into the desktops (dependant on your licensing with Microsoft) if the old product will support it.
If you are looking down the Citrix route, then I would look at XenDesktop 7 which offers both VDI and XenApp in one package. You can still use App-V inside of XD7 to the best of my knowledge as the Streaming Profiler we all know and love has depreciated in XD7, but from my early stages in learning its quite a learning curve and not all applications will play nicely being App-V’d
