Strange one here that i cannot solve. I have a desktop PC running windows 10 and a laptop running windows 11. For the past few years i have been using a google drive account across both pc’s without any issue. Since the start of this year, everyday on the desktop i am signed out of google drive on the desktop PC, and to go through the log in process each time. This does not happen on the laptop which has the same log in details for googledrive. I have tried uninstalling googledrive, disconnecting from the account, checking that the googledrive settings mirror that of my laptop and searched various forums for help on this one. How on earth can i identify what might be causing the problem and how can i fix it? No other software has been installed so there’s no conflict of programs. The only suggestion i have is that perhaps some sort of windows update was done on the desktop, i’d have to check.

Thanks in advance.

(Not helpful here, just commiserating)

I was having similar issues with OneDrive when MS moved it to an app rather than built-in. I see that the MS Store has a free client for google drive available. This change might be to drive traffic towards store supported apps over the traditionally supported developer software?

Right now is probably the best time to upgrade that Win10 box to 11 anyway. As I recall the last few times people were forced to upgrade at the EOL date, it wasn’t all that smooth and there was no turning back from a broken system. Lots of nuke 'n pave will happen.

The session timeout should be about 2 weeks, but perhaps someone set it shorter…

note this applies across all services, so it could have been trashed when setting up some other type of account like email.

The other place is I think the authentication app has a way to set token max lifetime…
