my windows 7 starts slow, i turned graphical boot of and bootlog on. when booting all the .sys files are passing but it just hangs for a few seconds before showing the windows loging screen. the bootlog shows all .sys files loaded fine but during boot it hangs some time after loading AVGIDSEH.sys the same happens with an ssd installed (OCZ vertex 3) only the .sys files pass much faster but then windows just waits some time before showing te login screen. i reinstalled windows 5 times just to check but the problem still exists. any ideas?
edit: forgot to mention i use windows 7 x64 professional.

AVGIDSEH.sys looks like an AVG file, have you tried removing AVG to see if it speeds up your boot times?

Definitely check the antivirus first. Don’t forget hardware either, especially the hard drive - a lousy hard drive can make even the fastest computer suck.
it loaded AVGIDEH.sys but it seems the next file just gets stuck. i did a clean install cant remember what the last loaded driver was but it had the same problem. i did not install AVG when i did a clean install.
i installed windows 7 on an normal HDD and on an ssd (vertex 3) the ssd loaded the .sys files faster but still “waited” some time before showing the login screen. is it possible that it has something to to with the motherboard?

as Bryan said a lousy hard drive will make even the best computer run poorly. if it is still slow even with a clean install I would also suspect the hard drive.
do you have another drive to try in it?
i used the SSD in an old acer laptop. it seemed to run fast and fine. It had ubuntu intstalled though. i will try another HDD and report back here.
Have you tried running MSconfig and remvoing some of the startup items from it?
You could try disabling AVGIDSEH.sys and see if it speeds up?
i disabled all on msconfig. first all nonwindows but that didn’t help. afterwards i disabled all startup items. Also did not work. My brother bought a new computer yesterday. I will test the HDD and the SSD in his computer. If both the drives behave normal could it be that there are problems with the motherboard? i already tester with another graphical card, other Ram, i removed the tv-card but it did not fix the problem.
