My company’s IT is being outsourced. Effective 12/2 helpdesk will switch to the outsourcing company and we will no longer be using spiceworks. So as my future is uncertain I just want to say thank you for all of the help and conversations in the gaming group.

Man, that sucks, you can switch your profile over to your private email address and continue to use the community!

All the best!

Just a thought - move your Spiceworks profile to a personal email address so you can continue to be a part of the Spiceworks community.

Best of luck with it! Feel free to come back to the community anytime!

I don’t use the helpdesk for work either.

I don’t see how you using Spiceworks the application is connected to you using Spiceworks the forum. They are independent of each other. This isn’t the first post I’ve seen like this and it’s baffling.

You can always bring Spiceworks with you!! That’s what I did when my company was bought out. I switched companies and all it took was 10 minutes showing off Spiceworks before I got the approval from my boss to install it and start using it at the new company.

Might be more of a thing with using a corporate email than not knowing that the forum is separate from the application. Like most people recommended, switch your profile over to your personal email address and spice on!

On another note knburkett, we’ll have to get together to watch a hockey game or play some video games sometime. First beer is on me!

Best of luck to you in the future. Hopefully something will come along soon enough to keep your Christmas joyous. It’s certainly not the best time of the year to face the job market (not that there’s any GOOD time).

Best of luck and do what those others said!

Well its a matter of being in spiceworks everyday. When I have a question it is a click away. If I am looking for something to read/discuss over lunch its right there. Soon I will be logging into some other helpdesk software and will have no reason to be in spiceworks. Also I didn’t realize I could change my email address so that’s cool.

Good luck, but keep on the community!

Yeah. Just because there is a convenient link between the two does not mean you have to leave.

Hoping your new position/situation works out for you! Good luck!

Outsourced… ick… Been there. Was told I’d be training my replacement… hahaahha as if I will be.

Good luck… and we’ll see you when you get back.

It’s a small company, and people prefer to call or email. I use the inventory though.

Sounds good to me.

I have a job for a couple months at least. Until they migrate everything to their servers they need me to hold things down. After that I will likely still have a job. It’ll just be the kind that isn’t too impressive on a resume.

Defiantly move to a personal email if you no longer work there. I had played with SpiceWorks about 3-4 years ago at an other job and wish I would have brought that forward.
