I have never heard this term, and I lived in Michigan for 12 years! Corn sweat is real.

I remember hearing this term for the first time when I first moved to the Midwest. I was much younger then, and I remember actually going out to several of the fields to see if I could see the sweat.

Did you bring a mirror? :joy:

Indeed it is. I have a few corn fields near my home. There is a heat advisory today, and I would guess we’ll likely have another advisory tomorrow as the corn sweat is getting near the peak.

Hopefully everyone gets the joke (in the title).

I feel Corngratulations is appropriate.

I’ve lived in the Midwest my entire life and have never heard that term.

Poor cornrats!

Rural Midwesterner here as well. When an almost 6 foot tall person stands on a 12 foot ladder and they are almost to the top of the corn, that is a lot of moisture being pulled out. Not all pollution comes from cars and factories.

11 Spice ups

Yup. I was thinking I should cornratulate you on your post.

Can we use this corn sweat as a sweetener?

8 Spice ups

That’s a pretty unusual height for corn… Corn is typically shorter than 12’ in our area.

I always figured corn sweat was what I do when I worry if people are going to get my jokes (like this corny one!).

Get low, get low (get low), get low (get low), get low (get low)
To the window (to the window), to the wall (to the wall)
'Til the sweat drop down my corn (my corn)

Knew I had heard this before there was a song.

Calm down there Young Shuck.

That’s why certain areas are better known for corn production
