Hello,

We have some reports we run out of ACCESS 2016 and the queries will run manually but the OnClick events set to occur when the buttons are clicked do nothing for about half (but not all) of the buttons with no real rhyme or reason or changes to our environment.

I made a backup and attempted a Compress and Repair but had no luck there. Checked to make sure macros were enabled and also Trusted Locations were set. This database is not split currently. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Is it the same buttons failing or random buttons?

Have you tried placing a msgbox behind the button so that when they are pressed you can tell if the Event is firing?

The issue may not be with the button/event but something else

Make a copy of the form then rename the original. Change the name of the copy you made to what you want. See if that helps. I have have forms flake out and nothing I did seemed to help but I did not want to start from scratch and rebuild. Also when you do that try a compact and repair.

I will have to try the msgbox and see what that produces, I came from a telecom background and am pretty inexperienced in Access unfortunately. I did try a copy, and strangely the old versions we have archived still have functional buttons, also the buttons that trigger macros rather than running queries comparing data tables are still working. I tried to Copy/Paste the code and recreate the onclick event as well.

I was able to find some missing code by referencing an old archived copy and re-add that but the queries are no longer linked to the buttons on the broken version. When I go into design mode on the broken copy there is only Form Main Menu under Microsoft Access Class Objects. I checked the data table link manager and the data tables are linked I am trying to replicate the config of my old version that has working buttons currently.
