If I purchase Sophos for my VM host, does that cover me for my VM clients that are running or do I need to purchase separate licences for each machine?

If I am not wrong, Sophos does not have agentless AV (I came across and used some products in the past). So far only these (or some of these) agentless AV have licenses covers all the VMs on the host (something like Server Data Center edition).

Correct - they sunsetted the agentless VM shield. Each OS running on the hypervisor requires it’s own license. The hypervisor requires it’s own license. So 1 Hypervisor (assuming MS Hyper-V here) plus 3 windows servers and 2 linux systems = 6 server licenses.

{"@type":"Person
chrisshipley2
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/chrisshipley2"}}]}}
