Hey SpiceHeads, it is that time of week again were we celebrate those who’s “SpiceBirthday” (the day the joined the Spiceworks Community) falls sometime within this week. Before I jump into that, an idea that just popped into my head (and we all know I have to write it down or else I’ll forget it): what do you think about having a badge associated with your SpiceBirthday? Basically a badge that denotes how many years you’ve been in the Community. Just a thought…

Yeah! Points are great, badges too! It’s been a good year. I have been using the help desk for almost a year, inventory shortly after, I also use Network Monitor and lots of plug-ins. I attended SpiceWorld last year and helped get our SpiceCorp group going again this year. Mostly, I love how I get relevant information and help with lots of my “stuck points”. I’m excited too about finding vendors for things I never knew existed! Thanks to all who have helped me this past year!

I love the idea of a badge for the years that you’ve been in the community, but don’t we already kind of have that with the badge for the version that you joined under…

That’s an awesome pie, or Pi. Badges or points they would both be good. A free SpiceRex or something else spicy (one time only) for reaching a milestone would be pretty neat.

I’m terrible with timeframes but I want to say it was over a year ago (probably closer to a year and a half or more) where you started getting the version badge only if you install the application. For example, take our new SpiceHead eliseorico… if you look at the badges for that profile , you’ll note there is no version badge. Since then, you only earn app badges when you install that particular application (for example, Network Monitor has its own badge). But, I do not believe we have a Community (only) badge so I was thinking of it more along those lines but you only get it once you hit your (first) year mark and then it upgrades each additional year. Granted, by thought about it, I meant within the moments of writing that post (haven’t put any real brain cycles into it).

I can’t believe we are all another spiceyear older :slight_smile:

It just seems to get faster and faster each year.

I remember when I was just a young spicer and you could buy a brand new desktop, printer, scanner, mouse, keyboard, 56k modem… All for a shiny new penny and still have enough for a taxi ride home with it all :slight_smile:
