SpiceCorps in JHB

HI all

I am interested in setting up a SpiceCorps in JHB.

Currently based in Sandton, and in the hub of technology in South Africa, i’m thinking that there must be more then a few willing souls interested in making this work here in SA?

If you get this off the ground I would love to attend! But being in KZN costs might be a problem for me. So I will keep an eye on this and see if it moves forward.

Don’t stress, I have a few team members in various regions in South Africa, when (not if) this gets off the ground, I should be incorporating them too, so the base will expand, and all the regions will be included. I created this group post last night, and already I have you and Renier_Schutte who are interested, outside of my current organization. So don’t feel left out…

There is already a SpiceCorps setup for South Africa - http://community.spiceworks.com/spicecorps/south-africa

I initiated the groups a few years ago but have not been able to maintain it. Anton van Schalkwyk is the only admin on the group at the moment, maybe the two of you should chat. http://community.spiceworks.com/people/anton-thecat

The concept is great, I just found a problem with execution, I blame myself though, things could have been better coordinated. Good luck, you have all my support.

Just ran this idea with a few other team mates here in the office and they nearly jumped out of their skins at the idea. So the enthusiasm is there. I just hope I can pull this off!!!

I know location and distances are factors in setting this up, but even if we only have one SpiceCorps function a year, it will still be awesome to have you as part of our Corps. Sharing knowledge and networking are fundamentals to the SpiceWorks motto, arent they?

we can use different means to communicate if our peers are located in other parts of SA. Skype is one we could utilize greatly. we should get this started, get spice date and location setup and spiceworks will do it from there.
