I am having trouble getting Spiceworks to view the in depth info of the workstations on my network. I am fairly certain that this is a firewall related issue. What ports need to be opened in order to have full functionality? If I disable a firewall, I can view everything perfectly.

Hi Tina,

Spiceworks connects to ports to identify the machines that respond to ping.

  • 135 (WMI): Used to detect Windows computers.
  • 22 (SSH): Used to detect Unix/Linux computers and some network devices.
  • 9100 (Jet Direct): Used to detect printers.
  • 5060 (SIP): Used to detect IP phones.
  • 80 (HTTP): Used to detect servers.
  • SNMP: Used to detect network devices such as printers, switches, etc.
