Hello,

I’ve been using Spiceworks Desktop installed in a windows machine since a few years. But I’ve just realized today it’s no longer working? It keeps asking me about the proxy server, and I dont use a proxy server.

Can anyone help please?

Many thanks

The desktop app was discontinued a few years ago, and it’s likely the things it’s trying to connect to on the back end at Spiceworks no longer exist. I’m sure another spicehead will give you the definitive answer on it. I believe it’s possible to still use with some limitations.

{"@type":"Person
PatrickFarrell
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/PatrickFarrell"}},{"@type":"Answer

Have you tried logging in with a local admin account, or do you not even get that far?

{"@type":"Person
PatrickFarrell
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/PatrickFarrell"}},{"@type":"Answer

Unfortunately there are no local accounts, it’s all community tied.

As far as the first post of Patricks, this is correct, Spiceworks desktop, the Windows program you mention has been out of support and retired for a number of years now, you can try disconnecting the machine from the internet and see if it will log you in, in an offline mode, but otherwise, it’s time to move on, either to the cloud or another product.

{"@type":"Person
Rod-IT
https://community.spiceworks.com/u/Rod-IT"}}]}}
